The closest sand to Herefordshire is in South Wales. Here’s where your dog is welcome, how long it takes to get there, and when the summer bans apply.

Herefordshire is about as far from the sea as you can get in England and Wales, but the South Wales coast is under two hours away. Many beaches welcome dogs all year. Others ban dogs in summer, usually 1 May to 30 September.
Rules can change and some beaches are split into zones, so always check the signs when you arrive. Drive times are a rough guide from Hereford.
