These terms apply to everyone who uses dogfriendlyherefordshire.co.uk (“the site”). By using the site you agree to them. Please read them, along with the disclaimer in section 3.
1. About us
Dog Friendly Herefordshire is a free community guide to dog-friendly places and services in and around Herefordshire. It runs alongside the Dog Friendly Herefordshire Facebook group, set up in 2015. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Dog Friendly Herefordshire. You can contact us using our message form.
2. Using the site
The site is for general information only. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Please don’t copy our listings in bulk, republish them as your own or use automated tools to harvest them.
3. Disclaimer
Listings may be out of date. Our information comes from public sources, members of the community and the businesses themselves. Opening times, prices, dog policies, facilities and ownership change, and we can’t check every listing all the time. Always confirm the details directly with the business before you travel, book or pay.
A listing is not an endorsement. Including a business doesn’t mean we recommend it or guarantee its quality, safety or suitability for you or your dog. Any arrangement you make is between you and the business. We’re not party to it and aren’t responsible for the goods or services they provide.
Insurance and licence checks. For dog walkers, sitters and home boarders, “insurance certificate seen” means we have seen a certificate showing cover on the date it was checked, and we show the expiry date the business gave us. It doesn’t mean we’ve confirmed the policy is valid, adequate or will pay out, or that the business is qualified or competent. Policies can be cancelled or changed without us knowing. Licence details are as provided to us. You can check animal activity licences with Herefordshire Council. Please ask to see a business’s insurance and licence yourself before you book.
Not veterinary advice. Nothing on the site is veterinary, medical or legal advice. If your dog is unwell or injured, contact a vet straight away. Emergency and out-of-hours arrangements shown on our vets page may change, so ring the practice first.
You’re responsible for your dog. Please keep your dog under control, use a lead near livestock and wildlife, follow any rules at the places you visit and the Countryside Code, and clean up after your dog. Places described as “dog-friendly” may still have restrictions on where dogs can go.
4. Links to other websites
The site links to websites, maps and social media pages run by others. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content, availability or how they handle your information.
5. Our liability
We provide the site free of charge and “as is”. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any loss, damage, injury, cost or inconvenience arising from your use of the site, from relying on any listing, or from dealings with any business listed on it. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of England and Wales.
6. Things you send us
When you send a suggestion, photo or other content, you confirm that it’s accurate as far as you know, that it isn’t offensive or unlawful, and that you have the right to share it. If you send a photo and tick the permission box, you give us a free, non-exclusive permission to show it on the site and in the Facebook group, with credit where you ask for it. You can ask us to remove it at any time. We may edit, decline or remove anything sent to us.
7. Business listings
Listings are free and are included at our discretion. We may edit, decline or remove a listing at any time. Businesses must give accurate information and tell us when it changes. Dog walkers, sitters and home boarders must send renewed insurance (and a renewed licence, where needed) before the old one expires. Otherwise their listing will be hidden. Any business can ask us to update or remove its listing at any time.
8. Your personal information
When you use one of our forms, we receive the details you enter. They are stored securely by our website host, Netlify. We use them only to deal with your suggestion, application or request, and to contact you about it. We don’t sell your details or use them for marketing. Insurance certificates and licences sent with applications are used only to check cover, are never published, and are deleted once we’ve noted the expiry date. A business’s name, area, description and any phone number or website it asks us to show will appear publicly on its listing. You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by using our message form.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site means you accept the current version.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
